Addressing Challenges and Opportunities
The Estonia Energy Forum 2025 is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM EEST at the Original Sokos Hotel Viru in Tallinn.
Organized by The Voice of Renewables, this third edition of the forum serves as Estonia’s premier energy event, bringing together policymakers, C-level executives, and investors to discuss advancements and opportunities in the energy sector.
Estonia is focused on transitioning to a clean energy future, aiming for 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050, while also reducing its reliance on oil shale and fossil fuels.
Aiming to add up to 1,100 MW of wind power capacity, Estonia has launched a state land auction for wind energy development, giving renewable energy companies the chance to secure land-use rights for up to 39 years. The auction covers state-owned land assessed as suitable for wind farms through environmental studies and ongoing local government planning (around 500 sq. km.).
Solar power is also playing a growing role in Estonia’s renewable energy portfolio, with projects like the KC Pihlaka Solar Park and Kirikmäe solar park contributing significantly.
Estonia is facing challenges in ensuring energy security, particularly in the context of the war in Ukraine and the need to reduce its reliance on russian energy imports and energy cybersecurity is also high on the Forum agenda.

Dorin Junghietu is an expert in oil, gas and energy. He has been involved in multiple activities of coordination, delivery, construction and commissioning of major projects. He has also been involved in the exploration, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons and energy for globally recognized clients.
He has experience of work in oil and energy companies, such as Lukoil in Romania, companies in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey.
Dorin Junghietu studied abroad and has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering.
