CREATING EUROPE’S LARGE-SCALE CROSS-BORDER HYDROGEN VALLEY
The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor supports diversification of energy sources and accelerated development of renewable energy technologies enabling the achievement of the EU target of 10 million tonnes of domestic renewable hydrogen production by 2030. The Corridor will facilitate transport of green hydrogen produced in the Baltic Sea region to supply industrial clusters along the its entire route, primarily the in Central Europe.
The project endorses EU hydrogen strategy and REPowerEU Plan. The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor will also support several regional and EU climate targets, such as the EU Green Deal and Fit for 55 package.
DRIVING THE GREEN ENERGY REVOLUTION WITH HYDROGEN
The Baltics, Nordics, and Central & Eastern Europe are rapidly advancing hydrogen as a cornerstone of their decarbonisation strategies.
Leveraging abundant renewable energy resources, the region is developing cross-border infrastructure such as the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor and projects like BalticSeaH2, aiming to create integrated hydrogen valleys and transport networks.
These initiatives are driving industrial transformation, clean mobility, and energy independence – positioning the region as a key player in Europe’s green hydrogen economy.
