By 2030, the Republic of Moldova commits to achieving a national target of 30% renewable energy in final energy consumption, with a focus on solar, wind and energy storage. Moldova has approved a new regulation enabling the country to participate in joint renewable energy projects with EU Member States, Energy Community Contracting Parties and third countries.

This establishes a legal framework for international cooperation on the development of renewable energy projects, including cases where no physical energy transfer takes place, only financial and technical collaboration.

The regulation is a tool to capitalise on Moldova’ renewable energy potential. Joint projects with EU and regional partners will help the country meet its renewable energy targets and build the infrastructure needed for a real energy transition.

Future Energy Forum Moldova – an annual meeting space for all stakeholders and policy makers.
