Hosted by The Voice of Renewables and held in Essen, Hydrogen Connections DACH will take place on 2026 and gather representatives of H2 and P2X developers, gas TSOs, utilities and offtakers.
Spain is emerging as one of Europe’s most important hydrogen markets. Combining world-class renewable resources, ambitious infrastructure development and growing industrial demand, the country is positioning itself at the heart of the future European hydrogen economy. As hydrogen corridors, industrial clusters, export routes and large-scale production projects move from planning to implementation, attention is shifting from ambition to execution.
Hydrogen Connections IBERIA conference and exhibition brings together investors, project developers, industrial off-takers, utilities, policymakers and technology leaders to examine the opportunities shaping the market’s next phase. From infrastructure and financing to demand creation and commercial partnerships, the event focuses on the critical decisions that will determine which projects attract investment, secure customers and achieve long-term success in an increasingly competitive hydrogen landscape.
HYDROGEN CONNECTIONS:
HIGH LEVEL NETWORKING
Spain
Supported by ambitious electrolyser deployment targets, public investment, and expanding infrastructure, the strategy emphasises long-term industrial competitiveness over immediate decarbonisation benefits.
Its success, however, will depend heavily on the emergence of policy-driven demand across the EU. The stakes extend beyond Spain’s energy transition: the outcome could play a pivotal role in determining whether the EU achieves its broader renewable hydrogen goals.

An exclusive event uniting top hydrogen and P2X experts to advance projects & partnerships.

Portugal
Portugal’s hydrogen strategy reflects an effort to transform its renewable energy advantage into a long-term industrial opportunity. By combining low-cost solar generation with plans for large-scale hydrogen production and export infrastructure, particularly around Sines, the country seeks to position itself as a gateway for renewable hydrogen into Europe.
However, with limited domestic demand and a heavy reliance on future export markets, the economic viability of many projects remains tied to policy support and demand creation elsewhere in the EU. As a result, Portugal’s hydrogen ambitions are as much a bet on Europe’s energy transition as they are on its own.

Collaborative Growth: PPAs, M&As, corporate partnerships, and cross-border strategies are accelerating projects across H2 value chains.
